Spring 2008 Open House & Review

"A Boomer Community" design concept for Calhoun was presented by students of Architecture and Marketing at the Spring 2008 open house. This project, building off of work of Winter 2006 and research by Professor John Hancock, demonstrated detailed design and marketing concepts for an urban-focused active senior community connected with the University. The studio process involved convening a focus group of potential residents and benefitted from visits by local developers and the collaboration and funding of SHP Leading Design architecture firm. Further research and design will continue through the Fall 2008 to conduct a feasibility study for the project. The studio was led by Professors Hancock, Russell, and Nursing Professor Pat Mezinskis
