Surroundings Art Show
The Surroundings Student Art Show held its reception on April 3, 2009. The show was designed with the intention to connect University of Cincinnati students to the people who live in the community surrounding the University. Both students from the University and students from Hughes High School and the Academy of World Languages submitted art that was exhibited. The teenage contributors are all part of the Art in the Market (AITM) free after-school program that takes place in the Community Design Center twice a week. The AITM participants learned professional gallery skills while taking pride in their work on the walls.
