This student work looked at the many characteristics of "Great Streets," as well as the requirements for implementing them. By looking at the history of great streets throughout the world, but focusing on the United States, he could identify the successes and failures of these initiatives.
He attempted to bring cohesion between each individual neighborhood that the MLK-Madison Corridor passes through as one great street. The qualities that contribute include trees, beginnings and ends, streetscapes, diverse building stock, benches, street lights, trash receptacles, accessibility, on-street parking, and many more. Finally he suggests a list of benefits that such an initiative could bring to the City of Cincinnati.
