| This group’s intention is to develop a resilient neighborhood structure that better serves the needs of the community residents and employees from major employers and other nearby institutions. This is done through strengthening housing and community services, commercial districts, and transportation accessibility and connectivity, while considering sustainable alternatives. We believe that through growth in Avondale’s commercial districts at different capacities through sited Transit Oriented Development, the creation of a Neighborhood Business District, and building a suburban office base in an urban infrastructure amongst a resultant burgeoning commercial sector near the MLK interchange will increase community investment, create a more resilient residential fabric and sustainable economic base. |
