OLLI at the University of Cincinnati
Beginning in 1990 with seventeen classes on UC’s Clifton Campus, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Cincinnati has grown into one of the oldest, largest and most successful programs for active adults over fifty in the U.S., offering about 300 classes each year at four principal locations.
OLLI (formerly the ILE) was created by volunteers, is staffed by volunteers, and taught by volunteers. Other than our Program Director and Secretary, we receive no pay. Our mission is to provide opportunities for lifetime learning and social interaction to the mature residents of Greater Cincinnati. The program is open to everyone age fifty and over at a very reasonable cost.
Enrollment information
Anyone who has taken or taught a course within the past two years is considered an OLLI member and is on the mailing list. If you are not on the mailing list, call the office at 513-556-9186. We do not charge a membership fee – one payment of $80 per quarter (or $195 per year) allows members to take as many courses as they like from among our great variety of offerings. Most members take three or more classes in a quarter, an amazing bargain, and with our commitment to this pricing structure, we can not, unfortunately, create a special fee for anyone taking just one course.
The sooner you register, the more likely you are of getting into the classes you want. If the course you have chosen is filled, we will put you on a waiting list, or you can choose another class. We reserve the right to change the times, locations or instructors. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to notify you immediately. You may then choose to transfer to another class.
If you have not received confirmation within two days of the starting date of your class, please call the office at 513-556-9186.
