Postdoctoral positions are intended to further deepen expertise in a narrow subject, including honing the specialized skills and methods necessary to make a natural and smooth professional transition from Postdoc to faculty or administrative university appointments. Postdoctoral research is just as essential to the scholarly mission of the host institution as the university is essential to developing Postdocs into highly valued and productive faculty.
Teaching, however, is one very important aspect that many Postdocs are not currently practicing but which will certainly be expected of them in the next phase of their careers. And that's where the CET&L comes in.
The University of Cincinnati and the CET&L welcome the responsibility of actively supporting Postdoctoral positions and is committed to offering a wide range of workshops, programs, and seminars designed to provide all the resources necessary to make the next best professional step.
