Would you find it useful to receive some confidential feedback on your classroom teaching? The CET&L is extending this invitation to pre-tenure faculty in the hope that this might be something you could use in preparing a file for reappointment, promotion, or tenure.
We will try to come to your classroom to tape one of your teaching sessions, we will discuss the tape with you if you wish, and we will make a copy of the tape (or CD) available to you if you would want to have that. Again, this is a completely confidential process, and you would choose whether or not to reflect any of this in any later files.
We have some limitations in what we can cover (no evening classes, for instance, and nothing except for Uptown-West). But if this works for you (or if you would like to discuss further), just contact us by reply, or anytime at cetl@uc.edu. It’s best if you can schedule a taping well in advance (of your class session but also the due date for your RPT file).
As you consider such feedback, think as well about scheduling a visit with a colleague for some peer review. That person might also provide excellent feedback when discussing with you a videotape of your teaching.
For more information, please check-out the CET&L's Peer Review Resources and Videotaping Your Class links.
