Audio Feedback

Audio Feedback refers to the Blackboard-supported, voice-recorded feedback that professors can now provide electronically for their students in response to student assignments.

By using Audio Feedback, professors can more easily respond to student assignments in a timely, detailed, and personalized manner. Think of it as a student conference in which professors can give richer feedback and can connect more easily with the student than through the conventional method of writing notes in margins. We believe this audio engagement helps students learn better.

We invite you to watch the tutorial below to discover why professors such as Dr. Sue Sipple from UC Blue Ash College (and her students) are using and enjoying this engaging feedback method.

Dr. Sipple has won two awards for her research on audio commentary: the National Association for Developmental Education's Anne Ferguson Award for Professional Development, and  Ohio Association for Developmental Education's award for Outstanding Research and Publication. UC is fortunate to have harnessed Dr. Sipple's audio-commentary expertise.

The tutorial provided here utilizes screen shots and audio voiceovers to guide us through the technological and pedagogical steps suggested to help us take full advantage of this rich practice.

It's not difficult to learn, and you can soon be using it, too.
