Faculty & Staff > Mark L. Wess, MD, SM, FACP

Dr. Wess earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. In 2006, he completed a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology from the the Harvard School of Public Health. His current activities include research through the Institute, patient care at the University Hospital and Hoxworth ambulatory practice site, and implementation of Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) at the University and Christ Hospitals.

Dr. Wess' research interest is informatics at the point of care. He has collaborated on a patient-specific decision-support tool for anticoagulation recommendations in patients with atrial fibrillation. He has also evaluated CPOE within the hospitals constituting the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati.

Dr. Wess leads the CHI's Research Data Warehouse initiative. He teaches a Health Informatics course with Dr. Peter Embi in the MS in Clinical and Translational Research training Program. He is a speaker for the Humana Physician Leadership program as well.
