Contact Sheet

Summary:

The first step in creating Spotlights is to create a Contact Sheet. This is where the information of each announcement will live.

Getting Started:

In the websites pane of the CQ GUI, navigate to the site you're working on. Create a new page using the "Contact Sheet: Spotlight Items" template.

In the websites pane of the CQ GUI, navigate to the site you're working on. Create a new page using the "Contact Sheet: Spotlight Items" template. This page will be a reference for your Tagging Lens.

The Contact Sheet will hold the information, while the Lens will present it on the page.

Once you're in the authoring environment for the Contact Sheet, you should see just one available component: UC Spotlight Item. Click and drag that in, and on the blue bar that apears, click edit.

This is where you'll define the information that appears on the Spotlight, and where it will link to.

  • Title: Appears in bold at the top of the Announcement
  • Caption: Smaller, descriptive text
  • Link: Specifiy a page where this Announcement will lead to.
  • Tags: Tags are used to describe the item.
  • On & Off Time: Set date and times for specific items to display on the tagging lens.
  • Image Alternate Text: Backup text should the image fail to load.
  • Image Size: Control the size of the image in the Announcement.

After you've configured the Contact Sheet, you'll need to navigate back to the page where the Announcements will display and configure the UC Tagging Lens.
