Using the Timeline

Once you create a Timeline Contact Sheet, you can place the Timeline component onto your page.

Click and drag the Timeline component from the Lenses section of your sidekick, right click the component, then select "Edit."

This is where you'll set up the parameters for how the timeline displays your data from either your Timeline Contact Sheet.

Edit Dialogue: UC Timeline Component [+]

Data Source Type: Select whether you prefer to use an XML File or a Contact Sheet to supply your contact sheet information.
Data XML File: (use only if XML File was selected in Data Source Type) link to XML file containing Timeline data
Contact Sheet: (use only if Contact Sheet was selected in Data Source Type) link to the Timeline Contact Sheet containing Timeline data
Timeline ID:
Timeline Subtitle: add a subtitle to your Timeline title (defaults to "Click on an entry for more details. To move timeline, press/hold cursor on timeline, move mouse.")
Horizontal Band 1: Configure the main horizontal band in your Timeline
- Interval: select the time interval you wish to use on your Timeline - Century, Month or Year
- Interval Width: set the width (in pixels) between each increment of time in your Timeline
Horizontal Band 2: Configure the secondary horizontal band in your Timeline
- Interval: select the time interval you wish to use on your Timeline - Century, Month or Year
- Interval Width: set the width (in pixels) between each increment of time in your Timeline
