The GEARUP Connection: Collaboration and Implementation

This year’s meeting includes an opening message at noon on Monday by Dr. Mitchel Livingston, Vice President for Student Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer at the University of Cincinnati . He received his doctorate from Michigan State University and Master's and Bachelor's degrees from Southern Illinois University. He is also a Professor in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services with research interests in multi-culturalism and democracy, community building, and organizational development. Dr. Livingston will inspire and motivate the audience with stories from his personal experience and a call for all of us to share his dreams for the students we serve.

  

This Conference will include: large and small group sessions with the Program officer, breakout sessions with presentations of best practices, networking and resource sharing.

  • Early Awareness for Undergraduate Programs
  • Readiness for Undergraduate Programs
  • Accountability: Securing, Assessing, and Documenting Match
  • Sustainability: Setting Up Your Program for Success
  • Parent Involvement
  • Implementation of GEARUP
  • Collaboration in GEARUP


REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The registration fee is $250 if you register by October 2, 2009. The registration fee after October 2 is $275. The single-day registration fee is $175. The fee includes meeting materials, some meals, functions, and refreshment breaks.

If you register for the conference and you find you cannot attend, you will receive a full refund by calling 513-558-1810 or e-mailing by 10/20/2009. No refunds will be processed after this date. Substitutions may be made at any time.

LOCATION and HOTEL RESERVATIONS
(Please make hotel reservations after 9/3/09 and prior to the end of business on 9/21/09, if you are planning to stay in the Conference Hotel)

The conference will be held at the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Hotel, 151 Goodman Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45219. A block of 30 rooms has been reserved at Kingsgate at the government conference rate of $112.00 (single) plus applicable occupancy taxes (currently 10.5%).
