Flying High

This summer I was given the opportunity to co-op out at NASA Dryden Flight Research Center located north of Los Angeles. It is one of the coolest places to co-op if you are an aerospace engineer. I co-oped in the design group designing flight hardware for flight research projects. The coolest part of the job was my flight in the T-34. It is important for the engineers to experience the flight environment from a test pilots perspective. I went through egress training and during the flight I observed the flight environment and flight testing maneuvers. During my co-op quarter I saw the landing of Space Shuttle STS-117, plus numerous flight tests.
