Calibration Verificaton

The perks for a coop at GM are endless. They set up an apartment for you and you never see a bill. They give you money for moving expenses that increases the farther away you are from your work location. They have a very competitive salary with a raise each year. They give you a number of paid holidays. They also give you the opportunity to try something different every quarter. On my last rotation the perks were even better. I was working in the calibration verification group and got to go on two trips. One trip was down to Lexington, KY, which I know isn’t all that exciting, but the second trip was amazing. I flew out of Detroit, MI to Denver, CO with about 15 other people. From Denver we picked up the vehicles we would be testing. The testing included everything from driving up a mountain to an elevation of 12,000ft where it was about 30 degrees in June to driving in the 115 degree heat in the desert of Nevada. The trip lasted two weeks ending in Phoenix, AZ. Everything was covered, from the flight down to the food. I got to see a lot of interesting things on the trip and learned all about calibration verification. Another perk from this assignment was the opportunity to test vehicles to and from work. So instead of driving my parents' minivan I was driving new 2008 vehicles!
