My summer in the Phoenix desert

In summer of 2007, I traveled down to Phoenix, Arizona to work for a nationally renowned Environmental Engineering design firm on a water treatment plant. I helped work on a plant in a place where the water is scarce and the need is even greater than in Cincinnati. The ways that water was obtained and treated and saved really was a great Environmental feat, especially since it only rains less than 5 inches a year in Phoenix! Not only was I working hard on projects, but I also was able to visit the Grand Canyon, and hiked many different awesome canyons and rock formations that a rock-climbing enthusiast would go crazy for. Phoenix is an awesome city because of the great mixture of culture and amazing landscape that makes it seem like it's not the same country as Cincinnati. This past summer was truly a "cool co-op."
