Hangin' out on the West Side

While working my second session of co-op at STUDIOS Architecture in New York, I got the opportunity to work on the new IAC building, located on the west side of Manhattan overlooking the Hudson River. This project is the first building designed by the world renowned architect, Frank Gehry, to be built in New York City. The building's innovative form and integration of technology have made it an instant landmark in the Mahattan skyline. STUDIOS Architecture worked in partnership with Gehry's firm to design the interior architecture of the building, which includes a 125 foot long video wall in the ground floor lobby. My role in the project included working with the contractor to conduct the final inspection of the spaces, which meant frequent site visits. Combining this experience with living in the East Village in Mahattan made for an exciting quarter of co-op.
