During my second co-op at Cummins Diesel Inc. I was placed in the Midrange Service Engineering group. During this time period, unreleased 2007 diesel engines featuring new exhaust after-treatment which reduces exhaust emissions 90% from previous emissions standards were being placed into field tests. As part of my assignment, I had the chance to make the trip from the Columbus, Indiana engineering facilities back here to Cincinnati where I worked closely with the local Cummins distributor on installing the new, cleaner diesel engines into two local buses which currently run routes in southwest Ohio. I have seen one of the buses which I personally worked on installing the engine in (as well as troubleshooting and test driving) around Cincinnati running routes. I take great pride in my contribution to reducing emissions to cleaning the city in which I reside.
