What Co-op Gets Paid to Golf?

At Duke Realty Corporation, I have learned that being able to present well on both a personal and professional level is equally as important as the knowledge one encompasses. The real estate and development business does require individuals to possess elaborate skills in various subjects including but not limited to: finance, management, economics, business, and law. However, success in this industry is primarily supported by skills and activities that we don't learn in school, and that would be difficult for most people to imagine as being work. Many of the hours working are spent on the golf course or at happy hours, building relationships that are the foundation of success for any real estate professional. As an intern, I was privileged to participate in all of these events as well. From golf outings to happy hours, my experience was by far the coolest co-op that I could have imagined. Even more importantly than being cool, this experience also promoted relationship development that I will benefit from in any career path that I pursue.
