Geof Yager, Ph.D.

 

Professor of Counseling

 

Dr. Yager received his bachelors degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1966. His masters is from the State University of New York at Albany in 1967. His doctorate, awarded in 1973, was received from Michigan State University.

Dr. Yager is a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, a licenced Psychologist, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. His areas of expertise include supervision, counseling skills training, and chemical dependency. His research interests include counselor values, videotaped interventions in teaching counseling skills, and models of supervisor training.

In 1996, Dr. Yager was given the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision's Distinguished Mentor Award. He has been president of Ohio ACES, secretary of the national ACES, and membership chair of ACES for nine years. For over 12 years, Dr. Yager has served as webmaster and co-chair of membership for North Central ACES. He was the Conference Coordinator for the ACES national meeting in Columbus, OH in the fall of 2007.
