12-1-1999 The CSSA Annual Election ended successfully with Mr. Zheng, Jing winning the campaign by 89 votes out of 150. Announcement of Mr. Dapeng Cui New!

11-19-1999 The CSSA Annual Election is scheduled on Friday, Nov. 19, from 7pm to 12am at YMCA. Information of three presidential candidates is available at the special election page of CSSA. New!
10-31-1999 A special passport renewal service provided by the officials from the Chinese Consulate at New York was held on campus. Over 100 people from CSSA and the local community were helped.
10-30-1999 Donations for Liang, Wujun (a Chinese student in Univ. of Maryland suffering from cancer) were collected at the Saturday night movie show. Thanks for the generosity of all the donators, by the end of the show, $203.87 was received. CSSA will be taking in further donations for the following week during office hour.

10-2-1999 The fresh video recording of the Oct. 1 grand military parade in Beijing, the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the foundation of People's Republic of China, was shown to members. To meet the demands of the mass of viewers, an extra show was added the next morning.

9-24-1999 Hundreds of CSSA members participated in the 1999 Mid-Autumn Festival Party in the beautiful plenilune evening. Newcoming students, scholars and friends enjoyed mooncakes as well as the dance and Kara OK with old members.
8-29-1999 Consul Cai, Yun of Chinese Consulate at NY and the cultural counselor from Chinese Embassy at Washington, DC visited UC and conversed with members of CSSA.
8-22-1999 Volenteers of CSSA picked up the first Chinese new student of UC 1999-2000 academic year at CVG airport. The new-student-welcome program (which consists of airport pickup, temporary accommodation supply, etc.) began.
7-16-1999 The Chinese library of CSSA re-opened after two weeks' collection check. The revised circulation rules were put in force.

Part of CSSA members took the annual summer trip to Smoky Mountains, Tennessee and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
5-12-1999 CSSA took part in the '99 Worldfest of UC. The Chinese booths, which exhibited traditional artworks as well as demonstrated Chinese calligraphy and cuisine, turned out to be great success.
5-12-1999 CSSA held a condolence exhibit on Memorial Bridge on campus, in memory of the 3 Chinese martyrs died from the May 7th NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade.
