A special passport renewal
service provided by the officials from the Chinese
Consulate at New York was held on campus. Over 100 people from CSSA
and the local community were helped. |

Donations for Liang,
Wujun (a Chinese student in Univ. of Maryland suffering from cancer)
were collected at the Saturday night movie show. Thanks for the generosity
of all the donators, by the end of the show, $203.87 was received. CSSA
will be taking in further donations for the following week during office
hour. |

The fresh video recording
of the Oct. 1 grand military parade in Beijing, the celebration of the
50th anniversary of the foundation of People's Republic of China, was shown
to members. To meet the demands of the mass of viewers, an extra show was
added the next morning.

participated in the 1999 Mid-Autumn Festival Party in the beautiful plenilune

up the first Chinese new student of UC 1999-2000 academic year at CVG airport.
The new-student-welcome program (which consists of airport pickup, temporary
accommodation supply, etc.) began. |

as well as demonstrated Chinese calligraphy and cuisine, turned out to

the May 7th NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade. |
