Administrative Information Technology - Executive Option
What is Administrative Information Technology - Executive Option?
To meet the rapidly changing needs of contemporary offices, the office information technology program offers administrative information technology course work with an executive emphasis.
Continuing changes in the office environment, most of which are the result of computer technology, have increased the demand for adaptable and versatile administrative assistants. To keep pace with these changing needs, the information technology programs offered at Raymond Walters College (RWC) include word processing, spreadsheets, databases and other microcomputer application courses. The executive program provides students with the background and terminology necessary to work in those diverse environments.
Success Factors
Students who are successful in this area are those who are highly skilled in business computer software applications and who have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Career Possibilities
Highly qualified information technologists are in great demand, and this situation is expected to continue. Information technologists are employed in organizations of every description. Demand is high in organizations that provide services: educational institutions, hospitals and other health facilities, law firms, membership organizations and companies that provide business services. Technologists also are employed by businesses engaged in manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail trade, transportation and communications. Banks, insurance companies, investment firms and real estate firms also are important employers.
Majoring in Administrative Information Technology - Executive Option
Career-oriented, associate of applied business degree programs at RWC offer the necessary course work for proficiency in administrative information technology. Up-to-date microcomputer equipment provides you with a realistic setting in which to prepare for the high-technology office.
An internship program, designed to provide an opportunity for on-the-job training, is available as an elective for full-time, second-year students.
All administrative information technology programs can be completed entirely through evening study.
