Continuing changes in the office environment, most of which are the result of computer technology, have increased the demand for adaptable and versatile administrative assistants. To keep pace with these changing needs, the information technology programs offered at Raymond Walters College (RWC) include word processing and microcomputer application courses. The medical option provides students with the background and terminology necessary to work in this diverse environment.

Students who are successful in this area are those who are highly skilled in business and medical computer software applications and who have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Highly qualified information technologists are in great demand, and this situation is expected to continue. Information technologists are employed in organizations of every description. Many are employed by organizations that provide health-related services such hospitals and clinics, or insurance and medical billing companies.
Majoring in Administrative Information Technology: Medical Option
This career-oriented, associate of applied business degree program offers the necessary course work for proficiency in administrative information technology. RWC's up-to-date computer equipment provides you with a realistic setting in which to prepare for the high-technology office.
An internship program, designed to provide an opportunity for on-the-job training, is available as an elective for full-time, second-year students.
The administrative information technology program can be completed entirely through evening study.
