What is Administrative Management Technology: Meeting/Event Planner?
The meeting/event planner program is designed to prepare students to plan, organize and manage all aspects of corporate and organizational meetings and events. Required courses are designed to provide students with essential skills in computer applications, management and communications. Graduates receive an associate of applied business degree.
This program includes an optional, paid internship component to give students on-the-job training related to course work. Students in the program will attend classes on a full-time basis and work in a meeting/events-planning related position for 20 hours a week for one year. Through this program students learn the fundamentals in class, while gaining necessary real-world work experience.

Students who are successful in this area are those who have excellent organization and time management skills, business computer software applications knowledge, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualified meeting/event planners are employed by corporations, hospitals, hotels, nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and various industries.
Majoring in Administrative Management Technology: Meeting/Event Planner
This career-oriented, associate of applied business degree program offers the necessary course work for knowledge and skills required for meeting and event planning. The program prepares students for all aspects of event planning, from weddings to corporate events, and includes course work covering concept development, budgetary obligations, and event design and execution.
An internship program, designed to provide an opportunity for on-the-job training, is available as an elective for full-time, second-year students.
All administrative information management programs can be completed entirely through evening study. Office information technology (OIT) courses must be repeated if the student receives a grade of "C-" or lower.
