Computer Support Technology: Web Programming

  What is Computer Support Technology: Web Programming ?

Computer support technology: web programming is a two-year associate of applied business degree program designed to prepare students to create, maintain and program Web pages and manage Web sites. Graduates perform some of the following job duties:

  • Design a Web page
  • Enhance a Web page with graphics and animation
  • Connect Web pages to databases
  • Increase the interactivity on a Web page
  • Program Web pages for advanced functions
  • Manage a Web site and Web server

  Success Factors

Successful graduates will have a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of displaying and working with Web pages. They will have the knowledge and experience to design, create and maintain Web sites.

  Career Possibilities

The explosion of e-commerce and the increasing use of Web sites in business and industry have created a need for Web programming employees. Many positions are available for graduates of this program.

  Majoring in Computer Support Technology: Web Programming

The program includes an optional paid internship component to give students on-the-job training related to course work. Students in the program will attend classes on a full-time basis and work in a Web programming-related position for 20 hours a week after completing the first year of study. Through this program, students learn the fundamentals in class, while gaining necessary real-world work experience.
