UC Diversity Conference

UC will host the Fifth Annual Diversity Conference on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. The conference is designed to highlight pedagogy, experiential knowledge and innovative practices that encourage individuals and organizations to build vibrant, diverse and inclusive environments.

Diversity Investment Grants

In support of this vision, the Office of the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) in consultation with the President’s Diversity Council, has established a competitive investment program to support enhanced student recruitment and retention with a focus on strengthening racial and ethnic diversity.  This is the second year for this program.

Proposals are invited from units of the university for increasing student diversity through innovative recruitment and retention activities. Of particular importance are programs and activities that will support:

1) New scholarship opportunities for students of color;
2) Programs that improve academic preparedness of students of color in the admissions pipeline; and
3) Programs that include partnerships with our regional campuses, Cincinnati State and Sinclair in developing pathways for students of color.

While this listing identifies important institutional objectives, proposals that target increased student diversity and/or success in other innovative ways will be given equal consideration. The proposed plan must also align with the university’s larger enrollment and retention plan. Proposals based on existing efforts are preferred, though new initiatives that include viable plans for sustainability are also encouraged.

Marian Spencer Diversity Ambassador Awards

The UC Diversity Council invites nominations to the Marian Spencer Diversity Ambassador Award.  The purpose of the award is to showcase campus affiliated individuals and groups whose diversity initaitives have positively impacted the university.  Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to nominate individuals or groups for this award.
