The primary mission of the University of Cincinnati Educational Leadership Program is to prepare excellent leaders for excellent schools. Hundreds of graduates of the Program currently serve in school leadership positions throughout the Tri-State Area and are dedicated to the creation and facilitation of high-quality, successful learning environments for the children, families, and communities that they serve. The Educational Leadership Program offers a variety of degree and licensure programs as part of its mission. Applicants to the Program can apply for a Master's in Education (M.Ed.) or Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree or they can simply take graduate coursework to obtain administrative licensure. Students enrolled in other graduate programs at the University of Cincinnati also are eligible to take Educational Leadership coursework as part of their leadership development. Students interested in obtaining a doctoral (Ed.D.) degree can apply to the Urban Educational Leadership doctoral program, an interdisciplinary, collaborative venture between the Educational Leadership and Educational Foundations Programs that is dedicated to preparing educational leaders who understand the challenges of urban areas and who are able to make a positive difference in urban schools and the lives of urban youth. One of the hallmarks of the Educational Leadership Program is the Administrator Development Academy. The Academy was initiated in 1986 as a collaborative effort with area school leaders to identify and support talented people who have the potential to become the "new leaders" in our elementary and secondary schools. The Academy currently serves as the induction experience for all degree and licensure programs and runs every day for six weeks at the beginning of the Summer Quarter. The Educational Leadership Program is dedicated to serving the diverse, pluralistic leadership needs of all schools, throughout the State of Ohio and nationwide. We welcome applications from those who would like to be a part of our learning community.
