The University of Cincinnati Evaluation Services Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2007. In support of our theme, Promoting Accountability and Continuous Improvement in the 21st Century, we are inviting university colleagues, clients, and friends to join us for a celebratory reception and presentation featuring Dr. Elmima Johnson, Senior Staff Associate & Program Director in the Division of Research on Learning, Directorate for Education and Human Resources, National Science Foundation. Dr. Johnson will share her perspectives about evaluation not only as a requirement for accountability but as a tool to help improve research and programs.
*Dr. Johnson received her BA in Psychology from the University of Connecticut, her MSW in Social Work from Howard University and the Ph.D. in Psychology from Michigan State University. She joined the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 1980 and currently serves as Senior Staff Associate & Program Director in the Division of Research on Learning, Directorate for Education and Human Resources. Former NSF positions have included Policy Analyst and National Coordinator, NSF National Conference on Diversity in the Scientific and Technological Workforce (1992-1997). Dr. Johnson also has held teaching positions at Michigan State University, Babson College Management Institute and Boston State College. She serves as the American Evaluation Association (AEA) representative to the Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation, chairs the AEA Multicultural Issues Topical Interest Group and was recently elected to the AEA Board of Directors for 2008-2010.
