- Unfinished business
Vote on changes to the University Faculty Bylaws
Senator Hall discussed the work of the Ad Hoc Bylaws Committee of the Governance Committee and proposed changes to amend the University Faculty Bylaws. Several of the proposed changes had to do with new committee structures to include greater faculty involvement in governance at UC; for example, to make the Governance Committee a standing committee of the Faculty Senate. Senator Hall asked to table the motion for the 1st proposed amendment to the Bylaws so that more discussion could take place. Chair Cuppoletti asked for a vote to table the 1st proposed amendment; a vote was taken and the amendment to the Bylaws was tabled. The two additional amendments to the Bylaws included electronic voting for university committees and faculty senate representatives serving staggered terms on the BOT. They were approved.
