What is Proudly Pennies?
Proudly Pennies is a student-led initiative that seeks to collect 1 billion pennies, the equivalent to $10 million. It will be a significant contribution to the Proudly Cincinnati campaign.

Which students are involved in this effort?
Proudly Pennies is spearheaded by UC’s Student Development Council and is supported among students throughout the University.

How will the funds generated by Proudly Pennies be used?
All funds generated by Proudly Pennies will go toward the UC Transformation Fund, which will directly support the goals of the university's strategic plan: UC2019.

When will Proudly Pennies end?
The campaign launched at the UC Board meeting on January 26, 2010 and will run throughout the $1 billion Proudly Cincinnati campaign, which ends in 2013 (or whenever $1 billion is reached).

Why are students getting involved?
Students are an integral part of the University of Cincinnati community, and they believe it is their responsibility to help mobilize support for this great university. The funds generated by Proudly Pennies will have an impact on the future of UC students.

Who can contribute to Proudly Pennies?
Anyone and everyone! All students – from undergraduates to medical school students – are invited to contribute their spare pennies to the campaign. Alumni, faculty, staff, local businesses and the Greater Cincinnati community as a whole are also encouraged to donate to the campaign.

How can someone make a donation?
Donations are accepted online, with a minimum donation of $10 or 1,000 pennies. Simply select "Proudly Pennies" from the drop-down menu of the online donation form. Contributors can also physically drop off their pennies in the Dean’s offices of their respective colleges. The Proudly Pennies campaign will also have a presence at UC events throughout the year.

How will donations be counted?
Funds raised specifically toward the Proudly Pennies effort are counted in pennies; in other words, a donation of $20 made on the Web site will be counted as 2,000 pennies.
