The University of Cincinnati Foundation

Charles McMicken Society

In 1858, Charles McMicken bequeathed to Cincinnati his land and personal effects – with an estimated value of $900,000 – to establish an “institution of higher learning.” His foresight in education directly led to the creation of the University of Cincinnati.

The Charles McMicken Society honors UC's most important donors and connects them to the university and one another. Members share Charles McMicken’s foresight, making it possible for UC to be recognized as one of the finest public research universities of the 21st century.

The Charles McMicken Society recognizes donors (individuals and couples) based upon their UC support within two programs: the McMicken Tower Society and the McMicken Club.
