General Questions
- What is the Proudly Cincinnati Faculty/Staff Campaign?
The Proudly Cincinnati Faculty/Staff Campaign is an annual fundraising effort that provides both active and retired faculty and staff an opportunity to directly impact the UC community through their charitable donations.
- Why should I give to the Faculty/Staff Campaign?
DIRECT IMPACT – Your donation directly benefits students, faculty and programs that make UC such a great place to work!
SUSTAINABILITY – Funds raised in the Faculty/Staff Campaign counteract declining state resources.
DEDICATION – High rates of faculty and staff investment show donors we are dedicated to our mission and a culture of philanthropy.
GOALS – Your gift will help UC achieve the President’s Faculty/Staff participation goal. If you are also a UC alumnus, your gift will help raise our alumni participation rate, which helps UC in national rankings.
CHOICE – You can choose the specific area of the University you wish to support!
- What is the time frame of the annual Faculty/Staff Campaign?
July 1 - June 30. Any gift made to UC during that time period counts. Pledges are counted in the fiscal year in which they are made. If you have made a multi-year pledge, your participation will be counted for each fiscal year until your pledge is fulfilled.
We hold a University-wide, peer-to-peer fundraising campaign from April through June each year. So if someone emails you or knocks on your door during these months, they are dedicated volunteers working to advance UC through the Faculty/Staff Campaign. If you haven’t already made a gift, please say YES!
- I heard the Faculty/Staff Campaign is going “year round. “ What does that mean?
A different college or unit will be highlighted each month, celebrating and promoting the campaign with fun events and activities.
- I’ve already made my gift to UC, does this count towards the Faculty/Staff Campaign?
Absolutely! If you have already made a gift to UC this fiscal year (July 1, or after), your gift has been counted in this year’s campaign. Thank you! Your gift also qualifies you for any special drawings or promotions.
- How does the UC Faculty/Staff Campaign differ from United Way and ArtsWave campaigns?
Gifts made during the Proudly Cincinnati Faculty/Staff Campaign stay right here at UC and benefit our students and programs. The United Way and ArtsWave campaigns are also worthy causes, which support needs in the Greater Cincinnati area.
- What is the role of the University of Cincinnati Foundation in the Faculty/Staff Campaign?
The UC Foundation works to raise funds to advance the mission of UC. Your gift is processed through the Foundation and distributed to the college, program or university fund you designate, typically within 30 days of receipt.
- What is the Proudly Cincinnati Campaign, and how does it relate to the Faculty & Staff Campaign?
The Proudly Cincinnati Campaign launched in 2008 with a goal of raising $1 billion for the University of Cincinnati by the end of fiscal year 2013. The campaign is setting the stage for UC to be a world-class university, and is well on its way to reaching its goal. By making a gift or pledge to the annual Faculty/Staff Campaign, you are automatically a contributor to the Proudly Cincinnati Campaign.
