The University of Cincinnati’s James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy is dedicated to education that leads to highly effective pharmacy practitioners, pharmaceutical scientists and educators who meet the needs of a diverse society through excellence in education, scholarship and service.
Challenges
Through graduate and research programs, the College fosters the creation of knowledge and the education of scholars who will serve in important roles in academia, industry and government. In order to continue the College’s ambitious goals, they need your support. The College strives to provide outstanding service to patient care, the profession of pharmacy and the community, and cannot continue without private funding.
Funding Opportunities
The James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy Annual Fund
This fund allows the College to enhance the excellence of its programs, especially in the areas of student support such as travel to professional meetings, student organizations, teaching technology, renovation of facilities, and much more
Scholarships
Each year the college receives valuable alumni support designated for scholarships, but each year the funds are not sufficient to meet the growing need for financial assistance. Tuition and educational costs are on the rise. All support received to fund student scholarships will be utilized to relieve some portion of student educational expense - meeting a very critical need in the College.
Some of the supported scholarships include:
- Kowalewski Pharmacy Practice Scholarship Fund - provides assistance to students interested in a career in pharmacy practice
- Wilfred S. Pahner Pharmacy Scholarship Fund - provides scholarship monies for students in good standing pursuing a career in community pharmacy practice
- Mark C. and Ida Lou Carl Scholarship Fund - provides assistance to students interested in all areas of pharmacy
- Joseph W. Carl Chair - promotes faculty development
- Industrial Pharmacy - used for graduate support
- Cosmetic Sciences - used for graduate Support
- General Student Scholarship
This fund allows the Dean and College to selectively earmark special projects for support. Examples include special scholarship support for students, faculty development, alumni activities, and special equipment purchases.
