The University of Cincinnati Foundation Acquires Experienced Fundraising Expert

Jay Browning joins university advancement team as Associate Vice President for Principal Gifts

CINCINNATI – Jan. 14, 2014 – The University of Cincinnati (UC) Foundation will welcome E.R. “Jay” Browning as Associate Vice President for Principal Gifts on Jan. 31, 2014. Browning joins the UC Foundation from Cabrini College where he served as the Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement. At UC, he will work closely with development and university leadership staff to achieve support for priority programs.

“I was attracted to the University of Cincinnati because it is such a cutting-edge higher education and research institution,” said Browning. “The university has a bright future ahead, and I want to do my part to achieve that success.”

Browning brings 17 years of fundraising management and leadership experience to the UC Foundation. Throughout his career, he has been devoted to serving higher education and non-profit institutions and has gained vast experience in principal and major gift solicitations, campaign management, donor relations, annual giving and more.
Prior to his time at Cabrini College, Browning gained expertise in fundraising at premier institutions across the country such as The Pennsylvania State University, Florida Atlantic University and the University of Maryland University College.

“Jay’s breadth of experience coupled with his focus on relationship building make him the perfect person to fill the role of Associate Vice President for Principal Gifts,” said Rod Grabowski, UC Foundation President and Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, UC. “I am pleased to call him a part of the UC community, and I am confident that his skills will help advance priority initiatives at the university.”

Browning gained his accreditation as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) in 2004. He is also a member of multiple professional organizations including the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Partnership in Philanthropic Planning (PPP).
