The University of Cincinnati Foundation Welcomes New Vice President for Development

UC Foundation adds seasoned, inspirational fundraising expert to leadership team

CINCINNATI – Oct. 21, 2013 – The University of Cincinnati (UC) Foundation welcomed Deborah “Dee” Robinson, PhD, as vice president for development on Oct. 21, 2013. Robinson joins the UC Foundation from Radford University, where she served as vice president for university advancement. In her new role, she will lead and manage various UC fundraising staff and programs.

In addition to working closely with the university’s development staff, the vice president for development is responsible for collaborating with UC deans and leadership to develop fundraising programs and activities designed to meet the colleges’ top priorities.

“Having worked in higher education for many years, I was drawn to the University of Cincinnati because of its recent fundraising achievements, energetic leadership and promising future,” said Robinson. “With such a pool of talent leading the university and the foundation, great things are sure to continue to come from UC.”

Robinson brings 20 years of management experience and related development work with nonprofits to the UC Foundation. Prior to her time at Radford University, she provided strategic consulting services to businesses through Network4Leaders. Before that, she was chief development officer at The Haven and spent time at premier institutions such as Dartmouth Medical School, Vermont Law School, Florida Atlantic University and more.

A specialist in higher education and strategic leadership, Robinson is also a recent PhD graduate. Prior to earning her PhD, she earned a Masters degree in higher education leadership from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelors in management from Granite State College in Concord, NH.

“Dee’s expertise in strategic management and leadership coupled with her vast knowledge of higher education makes her the ideal candidate to fill the role of vice president of development,” said Rod Grabowski, UC Foundation President. “I am confident that she will provide inspirational leadership to our talented development staff which will propel our fundraising efforts forward.”
