CINCINNATI (July 13, 2009) – The University of Cincinnati (UC) has won a Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) 2009 CASE-WealthEngine Award for Educational Fundraising. This award honors superior fundraising programs across the country and is a component of CASE’s Circle of Excellence program, which honors exemplary advancement programs and activities demonstrating the highest levels of professionalism and best practices in fundraising efforts, and contributions to the betterment of educational advancement worldwide.
“We are excited to receive this prestigious award. Through the hard work of our staff and the generosity of alumni, employees, and supporters, we are among the top 25 in fundraising for Public Research institutions and have led the Big East football schools in fundraising,” said Michael W. Carroll, president of The University of Cincinnati Foundation and UC vice president of development. "This strong support has already brought us to the halfway mark in our $1 billion Proudly Cincinnati campaign and is a testament to the pride our stakeholders have in UC."
The University of Cincinnati received the Overall Improvement award based on the judges’ analysis of three years of fundraising data submitted to the Council for Aid to Education’s annual Voluntary Support of Education survey. Out of 450 colleges and universities considered, UC is one of only 66 to receive this award. CASE President John Lippincott said of UC, “You have not only demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism and best practice in its fundraising efforts, it has contributed to the betterment of educational advancement worldwide.”
