The Center for First Year Experience and Learning Communities works to increase student engagement, learning, and achievement in the first year of college and beyond as a foundation for postsecondary success. Through its leadership and service the Center champions approaches that purposefully integrate curricular, co-curricular, and experiential learning.
Located within the Office of the Provost for Baccalaureate and Graduate Education, the Center reports jointly to the Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Vice Provost for Assessment & Learning and receives additional guidance from the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Planning. A director, three staff, college-based FYE liaisons and nearly 75 student leaders are responsible for the Center’s achievements and impact.
