Learning Communities

First-Year Learning Communities
Learning communities offer diverse groups of first-year students and faculty the opportunity to come together based on shared academic interests to interact in two or more university courses. The University of Cincinnati has more than 100 different opportunities to choose from.

Sophomore Learning Communities
Recognizing that students are constantly reflecting on their educational goals and seeking greater accomplishments the Center for FYE & LC has teamed with the Cincinnati Sophomore Initiative to offer advanced level learning communities in the sophomore year.

International Human Rights Upper-Year Learning Community
This will be a Fall 2009 upper-level Learning Community to examine International Human Rights from a variety of perspectives in a highly integrated and purposeful enviroment.  All courses will apply toward the International Human Rights certificate.

Peer Leader Program
Working in connection with first-year learning communities upper classmen implement a wide array of activities and processes such as modeling successful learning routines, organizing academic collaboration among students, and deepening connections to faculty and advisors for first-year students.
