About

The Center for First Year Experience and Learning Communities works to increase student engagement, learning, and achievement in the first year of college and beyond as a foundation for postsecondary success. Through its leadership and service, the Center advocates approaches that purposefully integrate curricular, co-curricular, and experiential learning.

Located within the Office of the Provost, the Center reports to the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. A director, assistant director, graduate assistant, undergraduate assistants, six peer leader captains, college-based FYE liaisons and nearly 120 peer leaders are responsible for the Center’s achievements and impact. 

Services:

• Consult with and support academic and student service units.
• Coordinate Learning Communities.
• Provide professional development programs and resources for faculty, staff, and student leaders.
• Guide and support a select group of student organizations including Alpha Lambda Delta freshman honor society.
