The Center for First Year Experience and Learning Communities works to increase student engagement, learning, and achievement in the first year of college and beyond as a foundation for postsecondary success. Through its leadership and service the Center champions approaches that purposefully integrate curricular, co-curricular, and experiential learning.
Located within the Office of the Provost, the Center reports jointly to the Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Vice Provost for Assessment & Learning and receives additional guidance from the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Planning. A director, three staff, graduate assistants, undergraduate assistants, four peer leader captains, college-based FYE liaisons and nearly 65 peer leaders are responsible for the Center’s achievements and impact.
