Dinosaur Tracksite Photographs

This is a well preserved dinosaur tracksite in the Klondike Bluffs area Just west of Arches National Park in Utah. Most of the tracks in this ancient coastal plain environment were made by Theropods. The track bearing layer is found at the boundary between the Entrada Sandstone and the overlying Summerville Formation (Jurassic). Thousands of tracks can be found in this backcountry area.

These are parallel trackways made by large Sauropods. This tracksite is located along the Purgatoire River in the Morrison Formation of Southeast Colorado. Tracks in this area were made in an ancient lakeshore environment. The trail to this area makes an excellent hike or mountain bike ride in the Comanche National Grassland
