El Tec de Monterrey

The centerpiece of my summer study abroad program was five weeks' study at el Tec De Monterrey in Querétaro, Mexico.

Here a few of our memorable moments at the Tec:

Moment of arrival! The bus from Mexico City dropped us off at the Tec.

  They were very good.

Our big brother, Fernando, at the Programas Internacionales office.

There was a great computer lab open to all students, all day.

  Tomando el sol (sunbathing).

Jack, Jen, and Jon: Homework collaboration.

One day for class, the Programas Internacionales office set up a (scavenger hunt) for us in el centro (downtown). At each stop, every group had to complete a task together before we would get the next clue. This one required blowing up impossible balloons. We finally paid a guy on the street to do it for us. Still counted as group work!

Rachelle and (Jacquelin) are proud of their flauta house!

There was a different table for each class.

  The judging of the food.

For a break from classes, on one Friday we got to make piñatas!

  A FRIDA piñata.

For our graduation all of the families were invited to attend. Rachelle, Angela, and I right before graduation.

Rachelle, Fer (our big brother), and I.

  Sad to be finished...

We went straight to a special dinner with a Mariachi Band!

On the first morning, there was a picnic for all of the families and students to get to know everyone.

There were always many people to talk to on campus.

The campus had very pretty features.

We could swim in the pool on campus.

You could always find people from our group on this bench.

  Relaxing on campus.

One of our Mexican teacher, Eugenio. He was great!

Very pretty-looking Mexican dish prepared by students.

  Marya working hard.

The finished product of one group.

On the last day of class, we all went out to breakfast at Vips.

Megan and John were choose to give the graduation speech. They did very well!

The whole group right after graduation. To celebrate our hard work, we left for Ixtapa beach that night!
