The International Summer School "UPBEAT" during the eighteen years period has succeeded to engage young musicians from all Croatian schools and Zagreb University Academy of music, as well as students from about thirty states from all over the world. Therefore, it has promoted on international level the Croatian high professional music teaching methods. The purpose of the School is to encourage young musicians of all levels and ages, to develop their musical skills. Students are instructed by internationally recognised teachers in beautiful historic surroundings.
The composition course in Hvar consists of a series of daily group meetings with Professor Joel Hoffman. The course this year will focus on writing for an ensemble consisting of composer-performers and selected instrumental musicians from other courses in the International Summer School "UPBEAT".
