A two week study tour to three distinct areas of Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, colonial towns in the province of Minas Gerais, and Salvador. By touring these three areas students gain an understanding of the many cultures of Brazil--cosmopolitan and urban Rio, the rich colonial past in the mining areas in the interior of the country, and the legacy of Afro-Brazilian culture in Salvador.
Eligibility All students, staff and faculty of UC. Students must be in good academic standing. Courses and credits - 3 hours of credit for a special project under the co-directorship of Connie Scarborough and the student's academic advisor for his/her major area of study.
