Urban Design, Architecture, and Interior Design in France, Switzerland, and Italy The summer quarter course will examine contemporary and historic planning, architecture, and design in Western Europe. Issues to be considered include: how Western Europe is responding to changes in European culture (immigration, globalization, etc.), how residents of European cities can recognize and preserve their cultural heritage while accommodating these changes, and what lessons American designers and planners can learn from Europe.
