Internships

There are several organizations that place students in paid or unpaid internships abroad.

Australearn has for-credit internship placements in Australia and New Zealand in fields such as business, communications, education, information technology, law, science and social science. 

British Universities North America Club (BUNAC) helps students with the logistics of finding work in Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is a non-profit organization that offers a wide range of programs and services, including:

  • International Volunteer Projects
  • Private School Placement
  • School Partners Abroad
  • Teach Abroad (China, Thailand)
  • Work & Travel Abroad (Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Ireland, Canada)

Intern Abroad can help you search for international internships. Experience enriching travel while taking internships in more than 20 countries!! With destinations across Latin America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia, European Internships specializes in reliable and challenging international placements.

International Association for Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) offers an array of exchange programs for technical students looking to intern outside the United States and U.S. companies looking for international technical interns.

Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati (JASGC) has internship and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.The positions include, but are not limited to Corporate Directory Intern, Cultural Education Intern, Public Relations Intern, Membership Development Intern, Web Page Intern.

Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program. This nine-month work/study program enables 20 outstanding young American professionals to acquire a high-level, in-depth understanding of the political, economic, and cultural environment of Germany and the European Union.  From September through May, the Fellows will complete two internships -- the first in federal or regional government institutions, and the second with private industry and mass media.  A variety of seminars with top-level elected officials, as well as leading representatives from industry and academic, in Berlin, Munich, Strasbourg, and Brussels, including visits to Poland and the Czech Republic, supplement the internships.  Applications due in October. The University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC), of which UC is a member, offers a limited number of internships in the programs in Bilbao, Spain; Chile; China, Costa Rica, Ireland and Israel. Requirements for participation in an internship program vary by program. See Information on Internships, Work Study, Field Study or Volunteer opportunities.

UC International Programs. Our office has a library of other internship opportunities. Visit us any week day between the hours of 9-5. To speak to an advisor, contact global@uc.edu or Karen Ramos, Study Abroad Director (556-1363). We are located in Room 3134, One Edwards.

Internships with USDA. There are various paid international and Washington, DC availabel with the Foreign Agricultural Service in US Department of Agriculture (USDA). Click here for more information.
