Our "Proudly Greek" campaign in the memory of Vera Paul and Dr. William Nester honor their passionate dedication to the fraternity and sorority community at UC. Funds raised will go directly toward fullling their shared vision of a premiere Greek Life program on campus.

Vera Paul

Vera Paul embodied tireless dedication to the UC Greek community. As a student, Paul was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. Following graduation, she served her sorority at the national level and was ultimately honored as National Alumna of the Year.

As founder of the Greek Affairs Council and the Greek Affairs Education Fund, Paul remained tied to the local fraternity and sorority community by promoting Greek leadership workshops and professional development. She also served as co-founder and vice president for the University Heights Urban Redevelopment Corp., which developed the $60,000,000 “Stratford Heights” housing project.

Dr. Nester

Dr. William Nester was a lifelong champion of higher education and human potential. As an administrator, educator and mentor, he compiled a long list of impressive accomplishments and honors during his 45-year tenure in higher education.

From his UC student days as a Pi Kappa Alpha leader and Sigma Sigma member, to his many years as UC’s Dean of Men, Dean of Students, Vice Provost for Student and University Affairs, Associate Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Associate Provost, Dr. Nester dedicated his life to helping men and women grow to their full potential. He mentored countless young people in the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s who went on to become the heart of our university’s strength and success.

According to the University of Cincinnati Foundation, approximately 12% of all university alumni give back financially to the university. Of alumni Greek, 43% give. A growing fraternity and sorority community is an investment in the university’s future.
