Rush Week:
Take time this week to decide if ADX is right for you. Get to know some of the members, and attend rush activities. Even if you decide not to pledge ADX, we will be sure to direct you to other campus ministries and churches that better fit your needs!
Pledging: The pledge period is a fun but tough 9 weeks. As a pledge, you must attend regular Monday evening meetings, as well as a pledge meeting (time determined by the pledges and pledge mom). There is a short test every week that covers the history and purposes of ADX. But don't worry: the pledge mom is there to teach you all the information, make flashcards, review with you and help you through each test. After these 9 weeks, you become an active member of ADX for the rest of your time at UC.
Monday Night Meetings: ADX meets every Monday night while school is in session. One unexcused absence is granted per quarter. Excused absences include illness, uncontrollable employment responsibility, previously scheduled service project, devotional or special event, and unforeseen emergency. One excused study break per quarter may be used.
Basically, try not to miss meetings. If you are going to miss a meeting, you must notify the president and/or secretary in writing at least one week prior to your absence (with the exception of emergencies, of course).
Spiritual, Social and Service: You must meet with your prayer partner sometime during each week.
No social events are mandatory, unless voted on by members. There is a mandatory spiritual retreat in Fall and Spring.
There are two service events per quarter, and you must attend one.
Finances: Please do not let the financial burden of ADX keep you from wanting to join. We are trying to set up a fund to help in tight times, and we also trust for God to supply financial support when He sees fit.
Pledge dues are $140 per quarter. Dues must be paid at the beginning of each month. Dues cover nearly all of our social events as well as chapter dues, Nationals dues, food, supplies, active pins, banquets, ceremonies, and retreats. It does not cover t-shirts and other extra items. Active dues are $40 a month, or $120 per quarter.
