Dr. Chuck Schubert is an Emergency Pediatrics Physician and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) . He founded a faith-based clinic in 1992, Crossroad Health Center, in Cincinnati's urban neighborhood, Over-the-Rhine. In 2003-2004 Dr. Schubert spent a year at a rural hospital in Zambia, Africa where he also trained national staff in pediatrics and leadership skills while stretching his clinical skills. Currently Dr. Schubert is focusing his efforts on CCHMC's Initiative on Justice, Poverty and Health as well as developing a partnership between CCHMC and a pediatric hospital in Nairobi Kenya. He was recently named a “Local Hero” by the American Academy of Pediatrics for his work in the inner city and in Africa.
