CULTURE COMMITTEE

The culture committee researches and educates EWB-UCIN on the common beliefs and practices of the community where the project is implemented.  The culture committee aides the communication flow between EWB-UCIN and the project community.

The culture committee works closely with the engineering committee and health committee to ensure the project outcome meets the desired need of the community and improves the health of the community.  The culture committee is responsible for assessing the project regions life style, political structure, religion, and languages.  The committee seeks to improve the lives of the community members without infringing on their traditions and customs.  The committee utilizes local opportunities to interact with various cultures, learning effective methods in communication and relationship building.

Members of the culture committee come away with a deeper understanding and appreciation for underdeveloped communities:

  • Living standards
  • Political Structure
  • Customs
  • Languages
  • Religion

Individuals who would like to join the culture committee should contact EWB-UCIN to get plugged in.
