University of Cincinnati Flying Club

 


 Constitution

 

ARTICLE 1 - NAME

 

 

ARTICLE 2- PURPOSE

·        To promote, educate and advance the knowledge and skills of the members in aeronautical, navigational, and piloting subjects.

 

 

ARTICLE 3 - MEMBERSHIP

·        There shall be two classes of members: voting and non-voting.

 

·        Voting membership shall be open to any full or part time graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in any of the colleges, schools, or divisions of the University of Cincinnati.

 

·        Non-voting membership shall be open to any member of the University faculty, staff, or alumnus of any of the colleges, schools, or divisions of the University of Cincinnati.

 

·        The total number of non-voting members together shall not exceed the number of voting members.  The number of graduate voting members shall not exceed the number of undergraduate voting members.

 

 

ARTICLE 4 – OFFICERS

 

 

 

·        Each officer shall be a voting member and a matriculating undergraduate student achieving and maintaining a 2.0 quarterly grade point average and in good standing with his/her respective college.

 

 

 

 

ARTICLE 4 – MEETINGS

·        Every attempt will be made to hold regular meetings of the UC Flying Club once per quarter.  Times and locations of such meetings shall be determined by the Board of Directors.

 

·        Special meetings of the UC Flying Club may be called at any time by the Board of Directors upon one week's notice to each member or by a petition of a majority of the voting membership, submitted one week before the scheduled meeting.

ARTICLE 1 – BOARD OF DIRECTORS

·        The Vice President shall act for the President when he is unable to serve, and carry the President's vote by proxy.

 

 

SECRETARY

 

 

 

·        The Secretary shall handle all correspondence pertaining to the UC Flying Club business including the Club's publications (rosters, field rules, copies, etc.).

ARTICLE 5 - DUES AND FEES

·        The billing cycle starts on September 1st.  Payment is due to the Treasurer by the last day of the month. No late fees will be charged.  Members will be grounded if their dues are not paid.

 

·        Dues will paid as follows;

 

UC Students

            Pilot           $100

                                    Non-Pilot   $10

                        UC Alumni

                                    Pilot           $300

                                    Non-Pilot   $30

 

 

ARTICLE 6 - SPECIAL FUNDS

 

 

ARTICLE 7 – INSURANCE

·        The UC Flying Club does not provide personal liability, property, or aircraft insurance for its members.  Pilots are strongly urged to check with their FBO to determine the amount of hull coverage necessary to satisfy the FBO’s insurance policy.  Pilots and members are also strongly urged to check their personal life insurance policies as most have exclusions for and require a separate rider for General Aviation.

 

·        Students and Alumni Pilots that rent aircraft are bound contractually to that FBO.  The UC Flying Club will make monetary payments to the FBO to cover hourly rental, fuel surcharges, and other expenses pertaining to normal operations of said aircraft.  The UC Flying Club is not responsible for any charges above and beyond club authorized activities.  Any fees or charges that arise from misuse or bad judgment made by the pilot will be the responsibility of the pilot.

 

 

ARTICLE 8 – PILOTS

·        All FAA requirements must be satisfied. e.g.

Pilot certificate
Current medical certificate
Current flight review
FBO Currency requirements
Any required endorsements
