About SABHA:
SABHA (The Society for Appreciation of Bharatiya Heritage and Arts) is a very well recognized student organization in UC, started in the year 1992. SABHA aims to promote an awareness of and foster interest in Indian (Bharatiya) heritage and arts. This is achieved through concerts, lecture demonstrations and workshops of various art forms, with a focus on classical music and dance. SABHA strives to emphasize high quality in all its endeavours, to encourage and inspire a participatory atmosphere amongst a wide audience in Universities and local communities, and to provide free access to all its programs and resources.
Initiated at the University of Cincinnati, the activities of SABHA are highlighted in a formal educational context especially in association with the College Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University. Our alliance with the World music concert series at the College conservatory of music has given us an opportunity to propagate Indian music and dance to the people in the United states. Being in a state-of-the-art academic environment, SABHA has also set up a computer information system to facilitate world-wide exchange of cultural ideas over the Internet.
SABHA is a non-profit student organization with funding and support from the University, other organizations and members of the community. The organization is well recognized in the University and the local community for bringing the rich Indian arts and Culture to Cincinnati. All SABHA programs are free of any admission charge and open to public.
